so sorry, i need to expound. I’m sure it’s not the panther grouper….this fish had more of a rounded head and not quite so big of a top fin. it was only about 2-3 inches long. it was kind of lying low on the bottom of the tank. thank you for your answers, please keep them coming! :)

not a lot of info. Is it a Dalmatian? same thing as a panther grouper called a Dalmatian grouper. When you bought it they should have told you to be sure it would mix with what you have. Bad choice of pet stores. REALY! If they cannot identify the fish, how can they keep it let alone let you know how. BAD. Choose a more reputable store, and I don’t care if it is petsmart or petco, they don’t know didly any way. A Dalmatian grouper is your best bet. if not, go back to your pet store. SAD! We need a pic to positively identify fish.

Are you talking about a domino damsel?? They are about 2-3 inches long and black with white polka dots?

Just so you know you can add details to the previous question, that way you don’t have to post another question. Sorry, but I have no idea what kind of fish it is. Can you be more specific? Can you at least find a pic of a fish somewhat similar?

Okay. Guess two. How about the Clown Triggerfish? You have us all stumped. This link I’m giving you has every single possible saltwater fish you can get for an aquarium. Check out all the different groups. If this fish exists, it will be here.
