If you leave them in there they raise the ammonia.
Your tank is fine if you took them out in time.
If your worried add Prime water conditioner and let it be.

First off what in the world is it contaminated by? If you don’t know and fish are dieing , perhaps it isn’t contaminated at all and ther eis something you are going wrong. The main question did you test what were the readings and why do you think i tis contaminated?
Starting over would depend on the contamination. Even contamination with bleach can be fixed. Why would you think the sand is contaminated or even the live rock, because you had two fish die? Perhaps the conditions weren’t right for the fish, perhaps another fish was the culprit, until you explain details this would be impossiable to determine.
Give details or repost and we will help

given that the fish didnt die from bad water parameters when it will be fine.
tkae the fish out and do a mini water change to stablize the aquarium.

When fish die in SW tank they decay faster. This result in very small ammonia spike. But if your tank is cycled, the beneficial bacteria will be able to hand this converting to nitrites and nitrates.
You tank will not be contaminated. Simply do a water change to bring the nitrate down. And you will be fine
Your live rocks, live sand or corals and anemones will not be affected.
